McIlroy and Anor v Shirley

We acted for an Act MP, Ken Shirley, who was sued in defamation.

The plaintiffs alleged Mr Shirley had defamed them in comments contained in a letter to the Minister of Police.

Mr Shirley engaged Parker & Associates only a few weeks before the hearing.

When the case was partly heard, the first plaintiff discontinued his claim against our client. Mr Shirley was awarded costs.

What our clients said:

"Over the past two years I became embroiled in two defamation cases as a defendant.

Having initially represented myself I soon realised that I needed professional help to successfully negotiate the complex legal processes and frameworks.

At very short notice prior to a High Court fixture I engaged the services of Parker & Associates. I have been greatly impressed with the determined focus and skill that Dan and his team have applied to my cases. The swift assembly of critical evidence combined with an erudite presentation proved to be a winning combination."
