Bronwyn Hutchison

Bronwyn completed a BA (Psychology) and an LLB at Victoria University of Wellington in 2002 and was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in 2003. She worked for Dan Parker from April 2003 to September 2005. After a period working and living in the UK, Bronwyn rejoined the Parker & Associates team in November 2006. Bronwyn is currently completing a Diploma in Business Studies (Dispute Resolution) through Massey University.
Bronwyn’s experience at Parker & Associates has been primarily in construction and property litigation as well as fire and general and professional indemnity claims work. This work has involved:
- Some major construction litigation matters involving multiple owners, construction companies, liquidators, local authorities, engineers, architects and others. This work has been predominantly in the “leaky building” area as well as general defective buildings and structures, wrongful termination of construction contract and Construction Contracts Act claims.
- Indemnity advice and subrogated recoveries and/or defences on a range of claims involving local authorities, schools, carriers, motor vehicle claims and a range of others.
- Dealing with a wide range of property litigation issues including caveats, specific performance proceedings, mortgagee sales, injunctions and cancellation/repudiation of contract issues and property rights including adverse possession, boundary and Resource Management Act issues.
- Assisting with various commercial litigation matters including solicitors negligence, disputes involving sale of land, breach of contract and misrepresentation/Fair Trading Act claims.
- Advice on Body Corporate matters including preparation of section 48 Unit Titles Act application, advising on rights and obligations under Body Corporate Rules and the Unit Titles Act.
- ACC advice and review proceedings.
- Assisting with a partnership dispute. Recovery action involving various carriers
- Assisting with OSH and defamation claims.
